Construction on the Expo Line has Begun

Major construction has broken ground on the Expo Line which is supposed to connect Downtown Los Angeles with Culver City and Santa Monica eventually. Completion is projected for 2010. It's certainly not the 2010 Kubrick envisioned.

This doesn't really address the traffic crunch between Downtown and Santa Monica further north in Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.

Maybe we need more above ground rail lines or mono rails as Ray Bradbury championed in the 60's instead of costly and time consuming below ground subway lines.
